25th Anniversary 1-Day Workshop |
Anniversary Spotlight on Puppetry (one entire Saturday) (For youth 9+ years)
This one-day puppet extravaganza will expose students to three varieties of puppetry art: finger puppets, hand puppets, and shadow puppets. After creating each type of puppet, students will do scene work in different styles: improvisation, narrated fairytales, and lastly, barnyard scenes from Charlotte's Web.
Puppetry is a popular theatrical art form that Youth Theatre Northwest has integrated into many plays over the past 24 years. Charlotte's Web is a fan favorite; it will be reprised this summer of YTN's anniversary year, and has graced YTN's mainstage in 1989, 1996, and 2005.
