in the classroom

A YTN educator spends a designated number of hours in a classroom (or series of classrooms) working with the class to bring a book, lesson or topic to life. In-class residencies are designed to integrate directly with the classroom curriculum. These residencies can last for one week or longer.

Examples include:

Story Book:
Educators guide students through a story, immersing them in the characters and solving problems along the way.

Play Lab:
Students write and perform their own play

Theme-based:
Students are introduced to a theme that they put a dramatic spin on through basic acting exercises.

PRICING:

1-12 students: $60/hr.
13-20 students: $110/hr.
21-30 students: $150/hr.

Eileen Hynes, a teacher at the Hutch School says about this program:
"Youth Theatre Northwest supports our curriculum in a fun and positive way, in addition to bringing performing arts to a population that would not be receiving arts education at this time."

We also offer similar programs for after school hours and in-service days. For more information on these options, please visit the main outreach page.
